TAIPEI, TAIWAN (TTNews) – The annual racing event in Macau, “The 56th Macau Grand Prix Motor Racing”, will be officially launched from November 19 until November 22, 2009. This year, a total of 259 drivers from 37 countries have participated in the event. The Guia Circuit with the length of 6.2 kilometres is the venue of the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, which is also one of the world-famous street circuits; thus, it attracts racers from around the world to race here every year. Moreover, due to the unique hilly terrain of Macau, it makes the race become more interesting and stimulating!
This year, Macau Melco Group has partnered up with internationally renowned Raikkonen Robertson racing team to form a fantasy racing team. Two young and talented racers Alexander Sims (21) and Renger van der Zande (23) from the team were introduced on the press conference.
The Macau Grand Prix is known as the cradle of many motor sport's rising stars. Many current of former Formula One drivers have participated in the event and some of them have won the prize. The winners include the current Formula One world champion Jenson Button and former world champion Lewis Hamilton.
