Fifteen university presidents have been invited to NTOU to discuss and make suggestions on the challenges that globalization brings to higher education in oceanography and maritime studies.

“Oceans play a crucial role in the development of humanity and civilization, “ the university said in a statement. “A collaborated effort between universities is necessary to tackle the various issues of marine science.”

NTOU President Kuo-Tien Lee said he looks forward to the cross-strait forum and the contribution it can make to research in ocean technology and marine education.
