Kaohsiung Street Art Pilgrimage Unveiled This Summer

KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN (TraNews) – Over the past few years, Kaohsiung City has been through a gradual transformation from a grimy industrial city to a healthy, livable metropolis. Kaohsiung’s transformation seems astonishing in part since there are so much to catch up with.

Walking down Zhongshan Road and Po-ai Road in Kaohsiung City, visitors can be expected to see a new Kaohsiung City full of city designs. While roaming along the port city trails, people can easily sense the changes of this emerging southern city.

To improve the city’s image, enrich its artistic resources and elevate the level of public arts, the entire city is a like a public museum, presenting a considerable number of public art installations in some major sites, such as public buildings, landmarks, KMRT stations, recreation areas and more.

To further inject more dynamism and vitality into the city and encourage youngsters to participate in legitimate recreational activities, “Kaohsiung Street Art Pilgrimage” is scheduled to take place between July 10th and August 7th. During the course of the event, participants are welcomed to use four major elements of street culture: sports, music, art and dance.

This large-scale event includes the Asian street dance contest, high school rock band, street art pilgrimage parties, street basketball, street graffiti and other exciting activities.
